Closing the production cycle of the European eel can contribute to a sustainable aquaculture and recovery of the wild population.

In EELRIC we currently produce three times per week up to 100,000 eel larvae but suboptimal quantity and quality is a recurring issue. This project aims to develop key reproduction technologies for the production of vital larvae. These technologies will be focused on the improvement of egg quality and larval vitality, and validated by performing successful feeding trials.
