Since the start of May, Omnia hosts a new program: DocuScience. In this program, employees of Wageningen Campus share insights into the inspiring work happening at Campus. We will explore new perspectives through provocative documentaries that encourage conversation.

6 June: Holy Shit

This evening we will explore the potential of human poop and urine. It is one of the largest waste streams in our food cycle, yet one of the least discussed. Can we bring these valuable fibers back to the field? This documentary will provide you with plenty of ‘poop for thought’. Following the documentary, an informative talkshow will take place featuring a panel of experts on the topic. Keep in mind: this program and documentary are Dutch spoken.

13 June: The Secret Life of Buildings - work

This evening is hosted by Erik van Eck, the architect of the Omnia building. Did you know that on average, we spend about 85% of our time indoors? Therefore, it is logical that buildings have an influence on our behavior. This evening will focus on the ‘social impact’ of architecture for the health and well-being of its users. Keep in mind: this documentary is English spoken, but the rest of the program is Dutch spoken.

27 June: Once upon a time in our soils

Do you like mysteries? Than you must be interested in this edition of DocuScience, focusing on soil: we still do not know much about it, but we do understand that we need to protect it. This evening we will follow the journey of a group of Walloon farmers who changed their practices to maintain soil on their land and build up soil health in their fields. Keep in mind: this documentary is French spoken with English subtitles. The rest of the program is English spoken.

4 July: Food waste

The final DocuScience before summer will feature WUR Impact Award 2022 winners: Food Waste Free United. More details of this evening will be announced soon.
